Bio
Darren Vermaas is an Audio Engineer based in Hoboken, NJ, specializing in mastering, mixing, and tracking.
Originally from Hudsonville, Michigan, Darren followed his passion for audio to professional studios throughout Minneapolis, Nashville, and NYC. From an early age he was drawn to the energy and emotion of music. He finds inspiration from the classic sounds he discovered when first dropping the needle on his parents’ record collection, and the sonic impact of modern recordings.
Bringing perspective, quality, and efficiency to his client's projects, he has worked with a variety of Grammy winning major label and independent artists since 2008.
Darren is also an accomplished post-production engineer with Audible Studios, part of Audible, Inc and has garnered numerous industry awards and nominations for his work with VO artists.

The Hideaway is one of the Twin Cities' best recording studios, and a favorite place to record. Owned by colleague and mentor Joe Mabbott, The Hideaway is stocked with racks of vintage and modern outboard gear, and features an extensive mic locker. The large rooms and incredible vibe make this one of the best studios to make a record. Plus, there always seems to be a fresh box of donuts lying around.
